We are a residential rehabilitation facility with a core focus on the individuals in our service, assisting them to make maximum gains in their rehabilitation journey. Evolve Whangārei is home to a 5 bedroom higher dependency wing, along with 6 independent units.
We are extremely lucky to be surrounded by wonderful landscapes, waterfalls and to have some of the best beaches in Aotearoa right on our doorstep.
Here at Evolve Whangārei, our clients enjoy their days full of activities, assistance with treatments and daily tasks, and rest. Our on-site staff includes an Occupational Therapist and Registered Nurse to ensure our clients receive the best support possible.
A typical day includes morning activities onsite, working together to prep lunch and dinner, and then afternoon rest to assist with fatigue management, which is often associated with a traumatic brain injury. Individual outings into the community are scheduled throughout the week with a group outing further afield on a weekly basis.
We are currently establishing an edible garden, so our clients can enjoy gardening and growing their own vegetables, with a number of fruit treats planted as well. We also have a compost bin for scraps and are looking into a worm farm in the near future.
Our clients also enjoy all of our on-site entertainment! They are able to watch their favourite TV shows and movies, join in on ping pong tournaments and have a go on our legendary karaoke machine!
